We’ve covered the music of moa moa many times here at TMR, and thanks to their new single, ‘Spinning’, they’re back once again. “Lyrically, I was trying to be playfully candid about self-love and self-acceptance,” explains vocalist James Radcliffe. “The subject matter definitely slipped into the writing, which is where the colourful backdrop to ‘Spinning’ comes from.” They might not have the biggest discography yet, but this track fits perfectly into the sound they are establishing: one of leftfield structures and sounds that mix perfectly with the accessibility of pop and the groove of funk. Having recently signed to Square Leg Records, their journey into 2021 is exciting. -Dan Peeke
